That's right...hard to believe I know but George Miller and Byron Kennedy released "Mad Max" on to unsuspecting cinemagoers on this very day back in April 1979. Happy Anniversary to a film that continues to inspire and get better with age!

The Kawasaki Z Owners club of Victoria are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their club with amongst other things a ride out to some of the filming locations for Mad Max and they are also holding an open day at Riddels Creek this Saturday March the 3rd, where one and all can come and check out their awesome machines. Mad Max Trilogy screening with Mel Gibson Q&A 21st January 2012

On Saturday night the 21st of January 2012 the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood California played host to a screening of the Mad Max trilogy that included Mel Gibson completing a Q&A session after the screening of the first film. This month's Street Machine features a terrific story that takes you behind the scenes on the creation of the original Mad Max Interceptor and features amongst other things a couple of rare photographs of the beast before it got totally "Maxed"! (Worth buying for this fact alone!!). This month's issue of Australian Muscle Car magazine (Issue #55 on newsstands now!) is an absolute bonanza for fans of the Mad Max Interceptor. The popular car magazine has dedicated more than 15 pages to telling some of the stories behind the birth of this cult film star by talking to the men (Murray Smith, Ray Beckerley and Phil Brock) that were actually there, right in the thick of Mad Max Madness. There is also coverage given to the film's other featured vehicles including Max's 4 door Falcon, Big Boppa and March Hare. The popular MIA Muscle(Missing in Action) section also puts the call out to try and locate Max's 4 door Interceptor which to this day remains the only unaccounted for Falcon from the film!

A terrific must have read for any Mad Max fan but for those wanting more, Street Machine magazine are also coming to the party with their own expose on the Interceptor in their issue due out next month!

32 years ago today Mad Max was unleashed on the Australian public at the East End One (sadly long since gone) cinema in Melbourne. Happy Anniversary to the film that continues to entertain and inspire all of us!
