Malabugilmah – Screening of Mad Max

    Malabugilmah (Mala)
    Northern Tablelands of NSW

It's dark, we've been on the road for 10 hours... the last hour on the gravel has honed the edge...

Lights "Mala" Action! A night to remember, bright open space, young smiles, handshakes, TV, pool table, hospitality. They were well pleased we were there and they showed it. Much talk, food laid on.

Mad Max was thrown up on the plasma screen. Mudguts, Johnny the Boy and the Toecutter saw themselves 28 years ago, when people beside them, quoting lines, were not born. Much chat, many photos, much chat.

Mudguts is part of this community and they know him well. Johnny the Boy and myself are here to see David, meet the people, and help the Madness of Max film team of Ridge and McFeat do an interview with David tomorrow. So much merriment, partings are such.......

Back on the edgy gravel to David's.
    Kip, Talk, Talk, Kip, Interviews.
    Tar to Sydney.

    – Hugh Keays-Byrne (the Toecutter)
